If so, there's only one thing for you to do - Go To Church!
Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines, Iowa, sponsers a number of small groups to allow church members and friends to share their common interests. The Chess Small Group is dedicated to playing and learning about chess. Group leader Terry Haimann has been playing chess for over 30 years.
The group meets at the church on the 2nd Monday of each month from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Meetings are held in Room 307. The first part of the meeting includes training on some aspect of chess strategy and tactics, followed by informal chess play for the remainder of the meeting.
All ages and all skill levels are welcome. Bring a chess board and pieces if you have them.
Write to Terry Haimann for more information.
