My present situation:
I am a lead computer operator for Central Tractor Farm & Country Inc. in Des
Moines, Iowa. They have recently merged with Quality Stores Inc. of Muskegon, Michigan.
Central Tractor plans to close their Des Moines corporate office by March, 2000
at which time the MIS department will be eliminated.
At Central Tractor, all batch processing for 240 locations must be completed within
six hours on a system that doesn't have enough horsepower. By analyzing the job
flow and identifying job inefficiencies, I improved the nightly processing time
by over 10% and consistently opened files on time. I was then assigned to train
other operators, and this led to my promotion to lead operator.
I am looking for another computer operator position. I am interested in the Des
Moines market, and would also consider relocating to other Midwestern or Southwestern
states for the right position.
